O365 Weekly Digest - 06/10/2019

Every week I'll be posting a quick summary of O365 updates included in the admin weekly digest email that you can sign up for via the admin Message Center: https://admin.microsoft.com/AdminPortal/Home#/MessageCenter - these emails include items posted to the message center over the last week and come out every Monday.

Android and iOS Support

  • Outlook mobile is adding the following enterprise features: 
  • Intune will support iOS 11 and higher starting with the September rollout of iOS 13
  • Intune will only support apps built using version 8.1.1 and higher of the Intune App SDK in September with the release of iOS 13

New Feature: Outlook mobile continues to add Enterprise requested capabilities
We are starting to roll out several capabilities Outlook for iOS and Android that address the email and calendar needs for Enterprise customers.The added capabilities are related to the following Microsoft 365 roadmap IDs:Shared Mailbox 32569 and 32570Enhanced access to files in Outlook for iOS 33156Calendar Search 33120 and 33121Local calendar sync to Outlook for Android 44620

New Feature: New Yammer files in Office 365 groups will be stored in SharePoint
Major Update: General Availability rollout started
We are updating the roll-out schedule originally communicated in “MC165927 - Yammer group files in Office 365 connected groups will now be stored in SharePoint”This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 26821.

The “In development for Microsoft Intune” page in our documentation has been updated for June 2019.

Plan for Change: Support for version 8.1.1 and higher of Intune App SDK for iOS
Starting in September 2019, Intune will move to support iOS apps with Intune App SDK 8.1.1 and higher. Apps built with SDK versions less than 8.1.1 will no longer be supported. This change will go into effect with Apple’s release of iOS 13 which is expected to come around September and also been announced in MC181399.

We’re increasing the SharePoint hubs limit to 2,000. We'll begin rolling this feature out soon.This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 51933.

New Feature: Supervision policies in Microsoft 365 now includes Skype for Business online chat and email exclusions
We are expanding Supervision policies beyond email and Teams content to include Skype for Business online chat monitoring. In addition, Supervision policies can now exclude specific email address so that automated notices or newsletters are not included in the review.This message is associated with Microsoft 365 Roadmap ID 50585

Plan for Change: Intune moving to support iOS 11 and higher in September
In September, we expect iOS 13 to be released by Apple. Intune enrollment, the Company Portal, and the Managed Browser will move to support iOS 11 and higher shortly after iOS 13’s release.

Office apps for Android - Retiring support for Android 4.x (KitKat) and 5.x (Lollipop)
Major Update: General Availability rollout started

The Office mobile apps for Android, will be ending support for Android 4.x (KitKat) and 5.x (Lollipop) on June 30, 2019. Starting on this date, users with devices running on KitKat, Lollipop or older versions of Android will stop receiving app updates. We recommend that your users upgrade to a newer version of Android. Lots of great updates to Teams and SharePoint this week but the update I am most excited for is the ability to track flagged emails in Microsoft To-Do ( Roadmap ID: 31812 ). SharePoint 3 new Connected Webparts for SharePoint Online: List Properties, File Viewer, and Embed ( Roadmap ID: 33133 ).
